Rules and Programme

Route description

Over 100 kilometres, 6,500 metres of elevation gain and a 30-hour time limit: numbers that are not enough to describe a race capable of stirring overwhelming emotions. For long stretches the route retraces the Anello Zoldano, the famous high trail that reveals the peaks framing the Val di Zoldo.

From the start at the DXT Village in Forno (850 m) the route climbs at once into its wildest, most wooded part, up to the grassy basin of Casera Cornigia (km 13) and Forcella Piccola (2,000 m), the gateway to the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park. It continues past Rifugio Pramperet and Malga Pramper (km 21) to the first time gate at Passo Duran (km 32).

Here begins the most technical part of the route: the tough climb to Bivacco Grisetti (2,050 m) and the descent to Malga Grava (km 39), the crossing of the slopes of Monte Civetta, Le Palanche (km 44) and the climb to Malga Pioda (km 47). After Rifugio Belvedere (km 51) and the life base at Passo Staulanza (km 58), the trail runs along the slopes of Monte Pelmo to Zoppè di Cadore (km 69) and the summit of Monte Rite (2,180 m, km 80).

From the last time gate at Forcella Cibiana (km 84) comes the "famous" Calada descent, to be tackled with caution: 1,000 metres of drop in about 1.5 km. After Rifugio Bosconero (km 90) and the final aid station at Casera Mugon, the last kilometres drop through the villages of Pra, Sommariva and Campo to the finish in Forno, for a total elevation gain of about 6,500 m and 5 ITRA points.
