About Us
We are a group of mountain people, all volunteers. We are committed to organising the event we consider the most captivating of those held in the Valley, motivated less by success in terms of entries than by the satisfaction we get from witnessing the tangible emotion this event stirs in its participants. A further drive behind our dedication comes from the opportunity to nurture the social life of the valley through the sense of togetherness that community work creates, and from the chance the event offers to bring people together — including those who do not take an active part in it. Alongside promoting the Dolomiti Extreme Trail, we promote our wonderful territory, seeking to enhance not only its undeniable natural beauty, but also its history and the authenticity that our community still preserves.

Atletica Zoldo
Atletica Zoldo — a non-profit amateur sports association affiliated with the Centro Sportivo Italiano — was founded in 1999 by a group of Zoldo locals with a love for mountain running, with the aim of sharing their passion with the young people of the valley.
The group thus began introducing youngsters to off-road running and encouraging their participation in various competitions, rewarded by the satisfaction of seeing talents emerge who made a name for themselves at both regional and national level.
Still with the aim of promoting mountain running, AZ took over the organisation of the historic "Sganbada Zoldana", a non-competitive race between the valley's hamlets held since 1973, and went on to propose new races, again at local level. Strengthened by the experience gained and encouraged by the support of the many volunteer associations active in the area, they began to nurture the idea of creating an organisationally more complex competition — one that could spark interest beyond the valley's borders — and in 2013 they took the big step with the first edition of the Dolomiti Extreme Trail, hitting their target right from the start.
Thanks to the undeniable emotional involvement this event has aroused in the local population, we have had the great satisfaction of seeing a steady growth in the participation of many valley residents, including those outside the world of sport but eager to take an active part in the event. The association also fosters collaborations with schools, local authorities and other sports groups, showing how a passion for sport can unite and positively involve people.
